Eggs in a Nest (also called Eggs in a Basket) cuts the middleman out of eggs and toast by making the eggs in the middle of the toast! The eggs are fried to your desired runniness, so the crisp, butter toast is, in fact, self-dipping! Eggs in a Nest is so simple, so speedy, and so visually appealing and wonderfully savory that you can tell why they keep appearing in tv shows and movies. They're ready for their close-up!

Ingredients

3 slices of bread, of your choice
3 eggs
3 tablespoons butter or softened butter spread
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste

Directions

Step 1 -Cut holes in the bread using a jar or a cookie cutter.

Step 2 -Place the butter in a large skillet.

Step 3 -Heat the skillet over medium heat until the butter melts and begins to sizzle.

Step 4 -Place the bread slices on the skillet. You can also place the cut-out pieces in the skillet if there is room and you want to use the pieces for dunking.

Step 5 -Break 1 egg into each of the holes in the bread.

Step 6 -Cook until the egg reaches desired doneness, turning as needed, about 3-5 minutes.

Step 7 -Sprinkle the egg with salt and pepper.

Step 8 -Plate and serve.
