Fancy French Onion Casserole. Yep, you read that right. The word "fancy" appears in the same sentence as "casserole." You didn't think it could be done but we did it! This influential bake brings together the flavors of that soup you like to order at the steakhouse and melds it together to make it a main (or a side dish!) to be enjoyed by many! The presentation is beautiful, and the taste is even better. Fancy French Onion Casserole is here to prove simple dishes have class, too!

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 medium sweet onions, sliced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 12 slices French baguette bread, cut 1/2-inch-thick and lightly toasted
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- fresh parsley leaves, to taste, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Grease an 11x7-inch baking dish.
Step 2 -In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
Step 3 -Add the onions to the melted butter, cover the saucepan, and cook, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes.
Step 4 -Add the beef broth and the Worcestershire sauce to the onions and bring to a boil.
Step 5 -Reduce the heat to low and simmer the onion mixture, uncovered, until the liquid has reduced, about 30 minutes.
Step 6 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 7 -Pour the onion mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Step 8 -Place the toasted bread slices on top of the onion mixture in a single layer.
Step 9 -Evenly sprinkle the bread slices with the mozzarella and the parmesan.
Step 10 -Bake the casserole until the cheese is melted and the top has browned, about 20-30 minutes.
Step 11 -Serve the casserole garnished with the parsley.
