Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 pound ground pork
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 cup onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup carrot, shredded
- 1/4 head green cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- kosher salt, to taste
- 1 green onion, optional, sliced thinly, for garnish
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, optional, toasted, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -In a large skillet over medium heat, add the vegetable oil.
Step 2 -Add the garlic and the ginger to the hot oil and cook, while stirring, until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Step 3 -Add the pork to the garlic mixture and cook, while stirring occasionally and crumbling the pork, until the meat is cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
Step 4 -Transfer the pork mixture to a small bowl.
Step 5 -In the same skillet over medium heat, add the sesame oil.
Step 6 -Add the onions, the carrots, and the cabbage to the hot sesame oil and cook, while stirring, until the vegetables begin to heat through and soften, about 1-2 minutes.
Step 7 -Add the pork mixture to the vegetable mixture and stir to combine.
Step 8 -Add the soy sauce and the sriracha to the pork mixture and stir to combine.
Step 9 -Cook the pork mixture, while stirring, until the cabbage is tender, about 5-6 minutes.
Step 10 -Add the salt and stir to combine.
Step 11 -Serve garnished with the green onions and the sesame seeds.
