Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 -Line a baking sheet with foil.
Step 3 -Place a wire rack on top of the prepared baking sheet.
Step 4 -Arrange the bacon strips in a single layer on the wire rack.
Step 5 -Sprinkle the bacon strips evenly with the black pepper.
Step 6 -Lightly pat the brown sugar evenly on top of the bacon strips, creating a thin layer.
Step 7 -Transfer the baking sheet to the oven and bake until the brown sugar has melted and the bacon strips are crisp, about 25 minutes.
Step 8 -Transfer the baking sheet from the oven and let the bacon cool for 10 minutes.
Step 9 -Using tongs, transfer the bacon strips to a sheet of parchment paper and allow them to cool to room temperature.
