It's so easy and quick to make you'll be amazed you ever bought the premade stuff! Juicy tomatoes and sharp onions are chopped up and seasoned with fragrant garlic, bright lime, and herbaceous cilantro, plus a little jalapeño pepper for heat. Then, just toss and presto! Ultimate Pico De Gallo is ready to get scooped up with tortilla chips or served on top of burritos or tacos or... well that's the beauty of it. The sky's the limit with this sauce/dip/snack/marvel!

Ingredients

  • 4 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more, to taste
  • 1/2 red onion, minced
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, minced
  • black pepper, to taste
  • tortilla chips, optional, to taste, for serving

Directions

Step 1 -In a large bowl, add the tomatoes, the jalapeños, the lime juice, the garlic, 1 teaspoon of the kosher salt, the red onions, the cilantro, and the black pepper and gently toss to combine.

Step 2 -Allow the tomato mixture to rest for 10 minutes.

Step 3 -Taste the pico de gallo for seasoning and add the extra salt and more of the black pepper, as needed.

Step 4 -Serve with the tortilla chips.
