Ingredients
- For the green beans:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 12 ounces green beans, rinsed and dried, ends trimmed
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- Optional toppings:
- parmesan cheese, to taste, shredded
- toasted pine nuts, to taste
- crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
- parsley, to taste, chopped
Directions
Step 1 -In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil.
Step 2 -Add the green beans to the oil and cook, stirring frequently, until they begin to soften and brown slightly on the outside, about 6-7 minutes for thin green beans and about 8-9 minutes for thick green beans.
Step 3 -Add the garlic, the salt, and the pepper to the green beans and cook for 2 minutes.
Step 4 -Transfer the green beans from the heat.
Step 5 -Serve the green beans with your favorite optional toppings.
