Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, plus more, to taste
- 2 pounds ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 green bell peppers, sliced
- 1 small onion
- 2 cups cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 2 cups provolone, shredded
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Line a large platter with paper towels.
Step 3 -In a large oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of the olive oil. Note: If an oven-proof skillet is not available, use a regular skillet to cook the ribeye steak and the vegetables as directed, but in batches, and then transfer the mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Step 4 -Add the sliced ribeye steak, the garlic salt, and the black pepper to the heated olive oil and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes.
Step 5 -Transfer the cooked ribeye steak slices from the skillet to the prepared platter.
Step 6 -In the same large skillet, using 2 tablespoons of the grease from the ribeye steak slices, or adding the extra olive oil to reach 2 tablespoons, heat over medium-high heat.
Step 7 -Add the green bell peppers, the onion, and the mushrooms to the olive oil and cook until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 8 -Add the Worcestershire sauce, the beef broth, and the cream cheese to the green bell pepper mixture, stirring to combine. Heat through until the cream cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 9 -Add the ribeye steak slices to the green bell pepper mixture and stir to combine.
Step 10 -Evenly sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese on the top of the ribeye steak mixture.
Step 11 -Bake until heated through, about 15 minutes, or broil for crispy cheese, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 12 -Plate and serve.
