Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1/3 cup chili seasoning mix, homemade or store-bought
- 2 (14.5-ounce) cans diced tomatoes with green peppers, celery, and onion, undrained
- 2 (8-ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (16-ounce) can black beans, undrained
- 1 (15.5-ounce) can small red beans, undrained
- green onions, to taste, sliced, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -In a Dutch oven over medium-high heat, cook the beef, while crumbling, until it is browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 2 -Drain the fat from the pot.
Step 3 -Sprinkle the beef evenly with the chili seasoning and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Step 4 -Stir in the diced tomatoes with green peppers, celery, and onion, the tomato sauce, the black beans, and the red beans.
Step 5 -Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat while stirring occasionally.
Step 6 -Cover and reduce the heat to low.
Step 7 -Simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened and the flavors have melted together, about 15 minutes.
Step 8 -Serve garnished with the green onions.
