  • 3 cups sugar

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 2 -Grease a 10-inch tube pan and then, using the extra flour, lightly dust the greased pan.

Step 3 -Place the remaining 4 cups of the flour, the sugar, the butter, the milk, the eggs, and the vanilla, in that order, in a 4-quart bowl of a stand mixer.

Step 4 -Beat the mixture on low speed for 1 minute, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.

Step 5 -Beat the mixture at medium speed for 2 minutes.

Step 6 -Pour the batter into the tube pan, smoothing it out.

Step 7 -Bake until a long wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean, about 1 hour 30 minutes.

Step 8 -Let the pound cake cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.

Step 9 -Transfer the pound cake from the pan to the wire rack and let it cool completely, about 1 hour.

Step 10 -Serve.
